Changes to SAYLA Dues Structures and Amounts

For fiscal year 2014-2015, SAYLA is restructuring the dues assessed on members. SAYLA has not increased membership dues in many years. As we have throughout our existence, SAYLA changes with the times. Effective for memberships covering June 1, 2014 through May 31, 2015, SAYLA membership and dues structures will be as follows:

  • $60.00 - Standard (employed by a law firm, in-house counsel, etc.)
  • $35.00 - Government Employee or Solo Practitioner
  • $25.00 - Law Student
  • $50.00 - Law Student (joining as 1L for 3 years)

We believe that this new structure will improve our ability to positively reach and affect the greatest number of young and newly licensed attorneys. We thank you in advance for your continued membership and support of your San Antonio Young Lawyers Association.

The San Antonio Young Lawyers Association, better known as SAYLA, was formed in 1948 (unofficially) and 1950 (officially) as the San Antonio Junior Bar Association, an entity of the San Antonio Bar Association. In 1974, the members of the Junior Bar officially formed the corporate structure that is now SAYLA.  (See more about the early history on the About SAYLA page.)  SAYLA continues the great traditions formed by the Junior Bar by providing opportunities and avenues for young and newly licensed attorneys to network with other attorneys and non-attorneys, socialize, learn and earn CLE credits, give back to the community, and enjoy their chosen profession.  We hope that this website is helpful to you.  Please use the menu at the top to navigate the site, learn more about SAYLA, become a member, renew your membership, find out about upcoming events, and more.
