Playpens are included on the list because they are something ADL could really use on campus. They often need them for off-site events, and the ones they currently have are starting to look a little worn out. If anyone happens to have one laying around at home that they’re no longer using, they would absolutely love to take it off your hands. They definitely don’t expect anyone to go out and purchase one since they can be a bit expensive.
ADL consistently uses H-E-B Heritage Ranch food for both dogs and cats on campus! While they do accept other brands of dog food as well, that one is the favorite and what they use most often.
For blankets, a good rule of thumb is to please make sure they are something that can fit in a standard washer and dryer. ADL doesn’t have industrial machines, so if blankets are too large or too thick, they unfortunately can’t wash them properly for our pets. Comforter, pillows, duvets, massive dog beds are things they sadly cannot take! ADL also asks that knitted blankets with large holes be avoided, as pets’ claws can easily get caught in them.
Lastly, ADL does not accept cat trees or cat towers. This is a common misconception, and while they are often donated to them, ADL unfortunately isn’t able to use them and they end up taking up a lot of space in the donation shed and cattery.
