Since its formation in 1975, the San Antonio Young Lawyers Association has earned a well-respected reputation in the San Antonio community because of the quality of its members and the services it offers the community. SAYLA is the only bar organization in San Antonio dedicated exclusively to the needs of young lawyers and the community service projects about which young lawyers feel most passionately.

Supported by a diverse membership of approximately 300 lawyers, SAYLA has two primary goals. One goal is improve the quality of life for all young lawyers through a variety of initiatives designed to educate, support, challenge, and entertain our members. A second, but equally important, goal is to serve the San Antonio community through public service projects that young lawyers find meaningful. These projects take many forms, but all of them allow our members to select those community service opportunities that are most significant to them.

SAYLA is composed of young lawyers of all racial, ethnic, and gender backgrounds, as well as solo and small firm practitioners, large firm practitioners, in-house and government lawyers, and law students. By volunteering their time and talents to organize and participate in numerous projects each year, SAYLA members make and benefit from countless contributions to their profession and their community.
